After 30 years as an elementary Art Teacher in the Merrill Area Public Schools, John Gestner has retired and is pursuing another area of expertise by opening Gestner Technology Services, LLC.
 For the last 20 years John has worked with computers, both at home and in the classroom. For most of those years he has been the unofficial "go-to" person for technology related questions for many of his teaching companions, friends and family, and during that time has built over 2 dozen computers from scratch for himself and others.

Upon retirement, his interest in technology has turned into a full-time business. John is finding his service to computer users to be just as rewarding as his service to elementary art students. Each day brings a new challenge with personal and business user's computer technology issues. John is now comfortable with all phases of home and business computer solutions and has successfully migrated several local businesses to new equipment, software and networks.

Gestner Technology Services, LLC offers a full range of technology related consulting services including network planning and installation, software installation, data recovery, computer upgrades, repairs, training, virus/adware/spyware removal and Internet setup.

John has become an official Microsoft partner and has reseller status with various hardware and software companies. Recently John has joined the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce and hopes to actively participate in making Merrill a better place to live and work. John has very much enjoyed the last 30 years working with the thousands of students that went through his art room doors and hopes that he can be appreciated as much in the next 30 years in his new technology endeavor.
